New drug applications and supplemental new drug applications for more than 220 drugs are awaiting approval in the United States.

Phase III clinical trials
More than 550 drugs – new chemical entities, new formulations, and new indications – are in Phase III trials in the United States.

Phase II/III clinical trials
In the United States, 28 new chemical entities, new indications, and new formulations are in Phase II/III trials.

Phase II clinical trials
More than 1,100 new chemical entities, new indications, and new formulations are being investigated in Phase II trials in the United States.

Phase I/II clinical trials
More than 160 new chemical entities, new indications, and new formulations are being investigated in Phase I/II trials in the United States.

Phase I clinical trials
More than 960 new chemical entities, new indications, and new formulations are in Phase I trials in the United States.
